FAQ about Microblading

Striving for full thick brows like Cara Delevigne, Lily Collins, or Lucy Hale? You’re really not that far away. In the last few years microblading has been setting the trend amongst Hollywood celebrities, and in fashion – the bigger and bushier the better. Unfortunately, we aren’t all blessed with bold and beautiful brows. But what we can do is pay for them! But what exactly is microblading and is it safe? Here are some FAQ about the process:

What is mircoblading?

It’s kind of like drawing on your eyebrows – but permanently. Essentially a type of ‘eyebrow tattooing’, microblading implants ink pigmentation into the skin in strokes that mimic natural hair. Unlike previous techniques that created solid, chunky lines, microblading uses tiny hair like strokes using a small pen that poduces natural looking results.

How long does it last?

After healing, microblading results usually last between 1-2 years. Things like suntanning, anti aging creams, and tanning beds can all fade results quicker.

Can I get microblading done if Im pregnant?

No. Unfortunately, microblading is not considered safe the those carrying a baby. You will have to wait until after delivery.

I don’t have any eyebrows, can I still get mircoblading?

Absolutely! In fact, that is one of the reasons why many women do get microblading! Those who have gone through chemotherapy, or those with alopecia or trichotillomania are all excellent candidates for the procedure!

How long does it take?

First comes consultation, then comes procedure. During the consultation, which will last from 30-60 minutes, your specialist will measure the placement of your brow and create the perfect shape for you. The actually process of microblading itself will take about two hours. And then you will be asked to return after about 4 weeks for a touch-up appointment.

Does it hurt?

Microblading can definitely be described as uncomfortable. Many people say it feels like a harsh ‘scratch’ on their brows. But numbing cream will be applied to help dull the pain beforehand. It might also help to take a pain killer before your appointment.

I already have an eyebrow tattoo, can I cover it with microblading?

It really depends on how thick the eyebrow tattoo is. Every face is different, as is every artist. Different artists will give  you different answers to this question.
