Is Mircopigmentation worth the trouble?

Have you ever thought “wouldn’t it be great to never have to apply makeup again?” Well, with todays advanced cosmetic procedures, you actually don’t have to. Whether you want permanent eyeliner, new lashes, or thicker eyebrows – it’s all possible in today’s world. But for right now, let’s focus on one of the hottest new trends in the industry – bold brows. If you are tired of constantly applying brow makeup to give yourself bolder brows, there is a relatively new procedure called micropigmenation that can cure your woes.

What is mircopigmentaion? Essentially its the idea of applying a permanent makeup. While micropigmentation is actually quite different than tattooing, the idea is similar in that a small needle/pen is used to inject permanent pigmentation into the skin. What “troubles” are associated with such a procedure?

1) Pain – I’m not going to sugar coat it, the process of micropigmentation can be painful. Just like getting a tattoo, there is nothing pleasant about having a needle stuck in your body (let alone your eyebrows) for hours on end. Speaking of which – how long does the procedure last? It really depends on your individual needs. Generally speaking, micropigmentation can take anywhere between 30-120 minutes. During this time, the area is numbed with a local anaesthetic, but it can still be painful.

2) The costs – The costs of micropigmentation will vary depending on who you see, the quality of the work, and the length of time needed to complete the process. But in reality, you are probably going to spend more on one micropigmentation session than you will ever spend on eyebrow makeup in your lifetime.

3) The risks – While the chances of running into complication during micropigmenation are slim, they are there. Some risks include infection, granulomas, scarring, and allergic reaction. You also need to remember that micropigmentaiton is a form of permanent makeup, and the process of removal is slow, expensive, and painful.

So, are there troubles associated with micropigmenation? Of course – there are troubles associated with any procedure! Are they worth it? It really depends on how much you hate applying makeup everyday. If you know exactly what you want, can handle a little pain, and have the money to dispense, then micropigmentation is absolutely worth it. It provides beautiful, natural looking results that won’t wash away during swimming, exercise, and showers. This is why it is an ideal option for athletic women or women on the go. But remember, results are permanent and complications can arise, so choose your specialist carefully before you let them near your brows with a needle, and always be 100% sure of your choice before you make it – because you can’t change your mind afterwards!
